What is Astrology?

Vedic Astrology refers to Indian or Hindu astrology, a system that originated in ancient India and was documented by sages as revelations from God. It is also known as “Jyotish” the science of light and deals with the astral light patterns that determine our destiny.

Pundit Roshan Singh, an expert astrologer is able to calculate the correct positions of the signs and planets and is able to construct a chart that represents these positions. His readings now are in demand all over the globe. He is able to use his knowledge and can study the charts and come to conclusions about and individuals life. In essence a horoscope is to understand one’s self, and the karma for this life.

The Basic Principle

The most important consideration is that all things are linked. Our Karma or fortune in determined by a predestined cosmic pattern. You are a soul incarnating in a body at a very specific time and place, and your life is a reflection of the greater whole into which you are born just as flowers bloom at certain times, say during spring time, when all conditions are perfectly congenial. So is the case with our births on this planet.

What are Charts?

The most important tool in Jyotish is your chart. It’s the route of the planets in the signs of the Zodiac. Charts are constructed on an exact moment at an exact place on earth. The moment you were born and the place you were born has a chart, and that becomes your birth chart. By knowing the charts the astrologer knows the person. The “dashas” (predictive timeline) are taken in the real star-based zodiac and this produces the predictions. Your charts will reflect your real life and your dashas will show how your life is operating and will determine “when” the events will unfold in your life.

The duty of an astrologer?

The Astrologer is blessed with the gift of discernment and should be devoted to God, to use his knowledge and expertise to heal the wounds of our past misdeeds and understanding the temporary nature of our existence. Pundit Roshan is one such person and is able to teach one how to use the remedial measures to soften the blow of our Karmas and at the same time surrender unto God as it is the only way to go back home, back to Godhead. If not used for this purpose then Astrology has no purpose. Of what use is it then to have a happy life now and not repent for our sins as this will only mean that we will continue to be reborn and face the four fold miseries of birth, old age, disease and death
